Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy in Bromley

What is Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy?

At The Lifespan Practice, we offer Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy in Bromley for children and young people from early childhood through to the teenage years. Growing up can bring emotional challenges, big feelings and times when a safe space is needed to make sense of experiences. Growing up can bring emotional challenges, big feelings and times when a safe space is needed to make sense of experiences. Our aim is to provide a supportive, containing and attuned environment where each child can explore their inner world at their own pace.

How We Work

We use creative, relational and developmentally informed approaches, tailored to the unique needs of each young person. This may include talking, play, art, movement or other expressive methods that help children communicate in ways that feel natural and comfortable for them. For adolescents, we offer a space where they can express themselves openly, think about relationships and navigate the transitions and pressures that often accompany teenage life.

Areas We Can Support With

We support children, young people and families across Bromley, Beckenham, Chislehurst, Orpington, Petts Wood, West Wickham and the surrounding areas of South East London and Kent.

We work with a wide range of emotional and behavioural needs, including:

  • Anxiety and low mood
  • Emotional regulation and big feelings
  • Difficulties in friendships or peer relationships
  • School based challenges
  • Family changes and disruptions
  • Bereavement
  • Trauma and early life experiences
  • Children in adoptive or special guardianship families
  • Identity, self esteem and confidence

Working with Parents and Carers

Parents and carers are an important part of the therapeutic process. We offer regular spaces to reflect together, think about patterns at home or school and support the wider system around the child. Our work is grounded in strengthening connections, nurturing resilience and helping young people feel more secure within themselves and their relationships.

Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy at The Lifespan Practice helps children and young people across Bromley and South East London flourish emotionally, build greater self-understanding and develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.
