About Åsa

Whether you are seeking support for yourself, your child, or your family, I understand that taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting. My hope is to offer a warm and collaborative relationship where you feel supported to make sense of your experiences and develop new ways of coping and move towards meaningful and lasting change. My work is shaped by both humanistic values and neuroscience-informed thinking, recognising that our early relationships and life experiences can influence how we feel and relate to others and navigate the world. I am interested not only in the difficulties someone brings to therapy but also in their strengths, resilience and capacity for growth.

I draw on relational, developmental, and evidence-based approaches to meet the unique needs of each individual. Alongside talking therapy I offer creative therapeutic approaches, including play, art and sand tray therapy, particularly where words alone may not fully express someone's experience.

Throughout my career, I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds, supporting those experiencing anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, friend issues, identity exploration, grief, trauma and more. A significant part of my work has involved supporting individuals and families following infant, child, and parental loss offering a compassionate, steady presence during some of life's most difficult experiences. This includes complex grief following bereavement from suicide or homicide.

Alongside my private practice, I facilitate therapeutic groups, including specialist bereavement groups. I am Core Tutor, Clinical Supervisor and Infant and Mother Seminar Tutor at a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy Training Centre in London. I also founded a School Counselling and Mental Health Service, providing therapy alongside psychoeducational support for students, parents, and school communities.
